Artists in the School Part I: Exploring the Culture of Schools

This training program for artists new to working in schools presents an overview of adapting to school culture. The language of education, lesson planning, child development, teacher accountability, and educational expectations are explored. Artists participate in activities that illustrate the nature of schools today and discuss implications for their own work in a school setting.

Artists in the School Part II: Becoming a Teaching Artist

Integration, assessment, curriculum, and classroom management are topics artists explore in these advanced workshops. Each workshop includes hands-on activities in the arts that demonstrate theory in practice. Artists are encouraged to bring examples and stories of their own work to share and discuss.

Artists in the School Part III: Artists Teaching Teachers
